What the Dashboard Shows
When you log in, the dashboard presents four key areas:Consolidated Balance
A single summary figure representing the combined balance across all your connected accounts. This is your real-time financial pulse.
Account List
A panel listing every connected account — personal checking, business checking, savings, credit cards, and lines of credit — each with its individual current balance.
Transaction Feed
A chronological list of your most recent transactions pulled from all connected accounts, showing the payee, amount, date, and current state.
Upcoming Items
A summary of transactions expected in the near future — recurring bills, scheduled payments, and any forecasted items you’ve added — so you’re never caught off guard.
How to Read the Dashboard
The Consolidated Balance
The large balance figure at the top of the dashboard is the sum of all your connected accounts. It reflects your current financial position based on posted and pending transactions.Posted vs. Pending Transactions
Your transaction feed uses two primary states for current activity:
Both posted and pending transactions appear in the feed and contribute to your current balance display. Pending items are typically marked visually so you can distinguish confirmed activity from in-progress transactions.
The Transaction Feed
Transactions in the feed are listed in reverse chronological order, with the most recent activity at the top. Each row shows:- Date — when the transaction occurred or was initiated
- Payee or description — where the money went or came from
- Amount — positive for income/deposits, negative for expenses/payments
- Account — which connected account the transaction belongs to
- State — posted or pending
Navigating Between Accounts
The accounts panel on the dashboard lets you filter the transaction feed and balance view by a specific account. To focus on one account:1
Locate the Accounts panel
Find the list of connected accounts displayed in the sidebar or panel on your dashboard. Each account shows its name and current balance.
2
Select an account
Click the account name to filter the dashboard view to that account’s transactions and balance.
3
Return to the full view
Click the “All Accounts” option (or the top-level summary) to return to the consolidated view across every connected account.
How the Dashboard Updates
Finluency refreshes your dashboard as your financial data changes. Here’s what drives updates:- New transactions post — when a pending transaction clears at your bank, its state updates from pending to posted and the balance adjusts accordingly.
- New recurring transactions come due — as a scheduled recurring transaction reaches its next occurrence date, it appears in your upcoming items and influences your projected balance.
- You add or edit forecasted items — any manual changes you make to forecasted or budget transactions are reflected immediately in the dashboard snapshot.
- New accounts are connected — adding a new account brings its balance and transaction history into the consolidated view right away.
Because Finluency pulls data from connected financial institutions, there may be a short delay between a transaction occurring at your bank and it appearing on your dashboard. Posted transaction timing depends on how quickly your bank reports the cleared activity.
